In a management accountant job you will usually report to the Finance Director, Financial Controller, Chief Accountant, or Head of Management Accounts, depending on the type of organisation you work within.
Key areas of responsibility in management accountant jobs:
- Presiding over the financial record keeping of a business
- Keeping records of and analyzing all the company's financial data such as revenue, income, taxes owed, and the amount of cash a company has
- Preparing financial statements such as balance sheets, cash-flow statements, and income statements
- Presenting additional reports to senior managers so that they can make important decisions
- Supervising record-keeping departments, such as bookkeeping and data processing
